VenueScout is a marketplace for organisers, venues and event vendors. Phase 1 is Nairobi, so this guide follows an organiser planning an event there and describes what the platform does today.
1. Search and shortlist
Open the venue finder. You can filter by city, venue type, number of guests for a given layout, starting price, event type and whether the venue has a 3D model. Results show as a grid and on a map.
- Pick up to four venues and open the side-by-side comparison.
- Open a profile to see its capacity for each layout, its reviews and what is nearby: dining, attractions, excursions and transport.
- Reviews are verified-event only: an organiser can review a venue only after accepting one of its proposals. Some venues are listed with no reviews yet, and we do not make any up.
2. Walk the room in 3D
Venues modelled in Event Map by VenueScout have a read-only 3D tour on their profile. You can then start your own layout on the same model. Event Map also produces capacity and safety sheets for layouts.
3. Send one brief
Instead of writing to each venue, send one brief: the date, your numbers, the layout and your budget. It goes to up to eight venues. Each replies with a proposal in a few fields, and you compare the proposals side by side.
4. Accept a proposal
Accepting a proposal creates a booking. A success fee applies only to bookings confirmed through VenueScout; see pricing for the current rate. Illustrative rates, confirmed before launch.
5. Then build the event
As an organiser you can add an event page, sell tickets with M-Pesa, and tender the equipment and services you need. Those steps have their own guides: selling tickets with M-Pesa and from a 3D layout to vendor tenders.
